I have found rust in my rear bumpers which will require some welding to rectify so thinking of replacing them with aftermarket reproductions?.
I see there are various offerings some stainless and some in chrome.
Have any of you guys bought them and what do you think?

Fix your original ones if they can be fixed.

You obviously did not take up my suggestion of contacting Marque restore in Coventry, if you had they would have informed you that while they do not undertake repairs they do employ a small company that will repair these items.
I have had three sets of rear bumpers repaired due to corrosion and they come back looking as new.
They have also re-chromed several complete sets for me.
The only downside is like all re-chrome companies it takes time.

Thanks again.
It was my intention to approach them but thought it may be less hassle and cheaper to buy new ones if they were decent?

I'd take Eric's advice. Fitting original repaired bumpers vs new after market is a no brainer in most cases.

I plan to use a 3D printer to make bumpers out of styrofoam :-)

For what reason ??

Yes, Peter .... :D ;D
A very good idea indeed.
They are much lighter and as such our cars will accelerate faster.
Furthermore, they don't rust anymore.
Please keep us informed on the progress of these.
;) :D ;D
All best,
Achim
(will through the original bumper sets away then, once getting some made from styrofoam)
