Title: Oilpump
Post by: pablo_o2 on March 27, 2015, 16:42:04
Hello group,

I am in the proces of an engineoverhaul and I need
an oilpump for a 280 sl. Since the pumps are no longer available
at the Classic Center Stuttgart, my question: does anybody have
an oilpump in good working order for a 280 sl for sale?

Thanks

Dan,

as far as I asked the official Belgium Classic parts center, MB is waiting for parts
to assemble new pumps  and that will be around august. Too late for me...
For those who know to read German :
Hallo Herr Cathor,

280 SL has M130 engine. The same engine was used in various models through 1972. One of these models, 1972 250C, that has the same engine. You can always search for the same parts, but with different model. It happened that I own an SL with M130 engine and 72 250C with M130 engine also. They are always have compatible parts.
I buy most of parts from Arizona Autohausaz, they have a Mercedes genuine oil pump for $681. See the link below:

 Item No.: 1141800301
Genuine Mercedes - Oil Pump
For models with engine serial number through 10-000439 (M/T) and 12-018881 (A/T). 1 per car

Good Luck

I've tried SLS and Niemoller of course.
The 114 pump is the same indeed but also out of stock.

Thanks

Would oil pumps be rebuildable (seals, other wear items)?

Contact Metric Motors in the US, they will supply you with a pump that will do the job, it is not an original one for your engine, it is an MB pump from another MB engine that Metric modify to suit, it is also a larger capacity pump.
Before DC disagrees I just bought one and it works.

Yes Cees the are rebuildable but the main shaft is pressed in
and a hard job to take apart.
Does Metric motors have a website?

Go to Tech Manual and then suppliers.
The part is cheaper than the one above.

Finally suceeded in finding a brand new oilpump.
The supplier is VDB oldtimer parts in Belgium, a guy
i was doing business with in the past. He has a tremendous
stock of MB parts and can be found at Techno Classica each
year.
Next step is assembling everything...
