Title: Original hood rod holder bracket
Post by: bkksl on March 25, 2015, 14:53:57
Does anyone know what the holder bracket for the hood rod look like?  ( The bracket that you put the hood rod in to keep the hood open).  I look at what is on my car now and dont think its original. Do you know what the original one look like and where I can buy them?

attached is the pic of what I have in the car

That's definitely not it.

Top points for having the top washer fitted correctly on your shock absorber. Most are fitted cup side down which is wrong.

This is not the original. The original looks like a U channel bolted to the fender. I do not see the tension metal rod that rides on the U channel. Someone modified the original. MB still carry all what you need.

Dan, can you explain what you mean,  That's defiantly not it,  As far as I can see the part that SLS sells, as you can see in post #1 is the plastic part that the torsion bar rod slides in  ie the rod that holds up the bonnet/hood.
