Hi,
I have my 127 engine apart and I'm using that opportunity to change all the timing system: all gears, chain, tensioner and rails. But how do I remove the rails? There are two studs holding them, but I can't see how you undo these. I've read everywhere and can't find that info.
Thanks for the tips!

They are threaded (M5) in their centers. Install a bolt in them and use a slide hammer or use the bolt and some washers to pull them out.
-
They are just pressed in? I see the thread in the middle and will do as you suggested.
Thanks!

Much easier said than done!
Won't budge. I'll have to devise a better system with a slide hammer.
Like anything else, when there's a will, there's a way!

Here's what I used, worked very well. Use a good quality (engineering) bolt.

Ah yes, the washer and socket method! Thanks for the contribution szentesi !

Yep! That would work. I'll get to it right away! Thanks szentesi!

Done! The original aluminum and rubber rails are still in there. I don't know of the rubber is supposed to be soft, but it's hard as stone...

Well done!
Mine were original spec as well, and were as hard as rock. Looked like plastic & aluminium to me.....
