Hello.
I'm looking for a good mechanic shop that can adjust a Bosch fuel injection pump. I have a 1968 Mercedes 250SE and I think the pump injects too much fuel because the engine runs very rich, it produces black smoke, and the oil is contaminated by the gasoline. Local places that service diesels don't want to mass with it because they are telling me that their equipment is only set up for certain diesel injection pumps. So, does anyone know any mechanic shop that could adjust and test the injection pump on a bench ? I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

The 2 that I know of are
Pacific fuel injection (west coast)
and
H&R (east coast long island)
Other members may have suggestions for you.

It's very likely that the slide in the warm running device is sticking or its thermostat isn't working. There are plenty of posts on these problems, how to test forthem, and how to fix them. Also in the Technical Manual.
I recommend Jerry Fairchild Industries in CA.

I have used Black Forest in Wisconsin" they do very good work.
A closed friend had a pump delivered, perfect results.
They want you to send the pump, injector lines and injectors so they can all be check and cleaned.
They found all 6 of my injectors where beyond repair. Needed new ones.

I already cleaned the injection lines and installed brand new 6 injectors (expensive).

Be sure to check that the new injectors work properly, is spray patter and release pressure. I bought some news ones a while back and one had to go back.
