Title: Soft Top rubber wedge strips
Post by: jf308 on February 24, 2015, 02:49:34
I have read the old posts, and the instructions in the Technical Manual.... Sorry, still not clear as to where these two grey rubber wedges/strips glue to the convertible top.  Can anyone help with a photo??

It says they glue to the underside of the top where the frame meets the body in a couple of posts.  Still not clear.  Pls help, otherwise they will go in the parts bin.  :-)

Thanks. John

here are some pix that JamesHoward (I believe) posted here some time ago. Hope this helps.

I'm afraid that will leave you with a "windy" experience when you drive with the soft top up - similar to not having taut tensioning wires there over the side windows ;)

Hi John

They go inside the soft top, above the folding metal frame, above the door windows.

Make sure you clean off any glue/rubber residue from the old soft top, unless you have a new top,
and use a suitable glue, as they tend to unstick when the top is folded for storage.

Good luck

Paul

Thanks ALL....

I was looking in the totally wrong area (along the sides at the rear where the top meets the body) and couldn't figure it out.
