It's a 1969 280SL. If you bought the car in the L.A./ Santa Monica area around December or January or if you if know who did, please contact me regarding your car.

is there a new suspense story cooking up?
-
I wish someone would have found me to tell me a story about my car, however I don't think anyone would want to own up to what was done to my poor baby 30+ yrs ago. I can't seem to find any history prior to my Dad buying it in 1986. He bought it is a low mileage ex-California car (euro model), but what a life it must have had. The chicken wire, newspaper and bondo sort of tells it all I think.

I feel for you and that is why I think this forum can be helpful in preventing these kinds of cars getting passed around to unsuspecting new buyers....

Realistically, probably close to 80-90% of Pagoda owners still do not belong to the group and are not aware of its existence, judging from the number of members vis-a-vis the number of surviving cars. For example i don't recall a single time when a "I saw this car driving on A1A yesterday between A and B; anyone here?" being answered with a "That was me!"

More telling, about half of our Full Members hardly ever log in to the Forum....

Hi Tom:
I think the car you are looking for is under discussion: Under Advice on this SL.
Try there it might be the one.
Will you be coming to PUB again this Year?
Haven't seen you since the last one in 2011.

Thanks Tom
I just saw your post. It looks like I'm one of those members who doesn't have much time left to go onto the site much. I don't know why the notification didn't alert me. I will search for the thread you mentioned. I'm hoping to make it out to Blacklick again, but probably not this Summer. If Garry Marks buys another Jaguar to drive back to L.A. again, that would be a good opportunity :-)...

Tom C
Have just purchased a couple of Kombi SC Utes, but not in USA. Now that would be a long trip across the land.
Here is one that is going, the second, a splitty is not all together yet ;D
I will be passing through LA going to and from PUB so must call in either going or coming.
