Title: Import Export from USA
Post by: mdsalemi on September 15, 2004, 08:48:07
Gents,

As a follow on to the rant and rave about taxes, I though it best to document this in the case anybody needs the information at a later date.  Hopefully our search engine will assist others.

In a former life I imported and exported a lot of gear; printing and computer equipment, by air and sea, to and from Europe and to and from the far east.  In that time I employed a variety of import and export brokers.

BY FAR AND AWAY the best of them is a firm called Seajet Express out of Boston.  If any of you need to have things like importing an engine, exporting a car, etc. handled for you, give these guys a call.  They did great work for me over the years, and they handled Cees' engines last year.

Indeed I was very happy with the Seajet reference Mike gave me last summer. Marie over there handled the engine shipment (pick up in Columbus, Ohio, then ship to port in Rotterdam) very professionally and expediently. The cost was lower than I had expected, too. So I can recommend them from my personal experience.

Thanks Michael. I wish I knew this info 3 weeks ago. My car is sitting at port in Houston due to an inefficient shipper!!
