We received a catalog in today's mail from a furniture company in Walton Hills, Ohio and I have attached a copy of the front cover. The legend notes that the Mercedes on the cover is a 1967 model.

Wow. That's one SHINY pagoda. Obviously NOT a '67 though!
-
Kevin,
it could be one of the 256 280SL produced in Nov/Dec 1967 or even a later 250 with the full wheel trims?
-
and it looks like somebody is trying to install non-stock seats. First time I see a Pagoda with such an option ;)
-
Walton Hills is 10 minutes from where I live. Next time I will let them use my car in the photo, and not even charge them. At least there would be no guessing as to the correct year and model.
-
I have a hard time standing on my head at my age for too long :) so I turned the picture around for people that have similar issues as I ~grin~
Good idea Alex ... did you get the passengier door fixed after that lady in Williamsburg put the dent into it? Hope the paint matched okay and you had her pay for it.
~~~~~~~~~~~ I e-mailed the editor of the magazine ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ perhaps he will reply if so I'll let you fellows know ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello,
I wonder if you can tell me who the owner of this fine car is? Someone posted your cover photo (picture attached) in our forum and there are some questions as to the year of the car and type (230, 250 or 280 sl). Love to hear from you, perhaps the owner of the car is a forum member or if he/she is not then he/she might be interested to become a Associate member or Member of one of the finest Mercedes Pagoda forums in the world.
Thank you,
Rolf-Dieter
Apologies for the upside-down photo. My intentions we honorable, but the delivery was flawed.
-
I know we see things differently down here but it looked fine to me Rolf Dieter, why did you turn it upside down?? ;D
:o
... or it could be one of the 280 SLs after serial 004052 which were always delivered with headrests (US version only) ;D
or ...
something else... ???
(Most likely not a 230).
Conclusion:
These cars should not be used as furniture carriers.
IMHO....
Smiles at Gerry .... as I said I'm getting too old to stand on my head LOL
Not a problem Hans ... being part of our fine club means never to have to say "I'm sorry" ~s~
How about a lumber wagon?
