Title: Miles per gallon, liters/100 km - who cares?
Post by: 66andBlue on January 12, 2015, 01:24:07
Looks like we can afford our thirsty Pagodas a little easier this year.  ;)
Gasoline (or Petrol as some prefer to call it) and Diesel prices in Shreveport, LA on January 02, 2015.
Who could have predicted this at the beginning of last year?

I wish, although our prices have gone down from $1.50 Aust a litre to around 1.05 but diesel remains at around $1.35. Exchange rate around $0.80 to a USD.

Your diesel appears to be expensive compared to Petrol??

I guess being part of the British Commonwealth does not help ... here in Canada it looks like we always will get screwed when comparing prices to the USA. Still Yesterday driving along in my other Benz gas (regular) was $0.89 compared to the end of last year $1.31 for regular gas. Yes quite a change ... let us see how long it will last.

As for gas prices and our thirsty Pagoda ... I never gave it a second thought ... how about you fellows? Who cares is right on :)

Compared to Europe, your petrol or gas is as cheap (or expensive...) as drinking water...

In Poland, that is probably among the cheaper lot in Europe, the pump prices went down about 25% over the last 12 months.
However, they are are roughly 2,5 times higher for gas and 1,6 times for diesel, so still we are not equal in front of the pump :)

Hey Alfred,

Were the prices shown per US gallon?

The prices quoted by Gary were per litre.

note: 1 US gallon = 3.785 litres

I saw $1.88 in Melbourne, Florida this weekend.

Enjoy it while it lasts, cause it ain't gonna stay low forever.
