Title: rear motor mount
Post by: gnj588d on November 28, 2014, 08:21:59
Is it possible to fit new rear motor mount without a vehicle lift,I only have
ramps.Looks like a difficult job working off your back. :-\.Cheers .Mike.

That depends on who's doing it!
In my early days I didn't have a ramp and could do a clutch on a 230SL in 45 minutes!

Obviously easier with a pit or a lift, but it's not a bad job on your back.   You need to raise both the front and rear ends, though.  And you need a small jack to support the back of the engine while you remove the support plate and change the mount.

As a follow on question, is there a diagram which shows the correct assembly of the various washers/spacers etc that fit over the mount and the support plate. I couldn`t find it in the BBB or either of the manuals that I have and the SLS catalogue (normally a great help) isn`t clear.

cheers
