Hello forum,
After having revised my whole heating system (the radiator was leaking), I am currently reassembling the different parts.
Unfortunately I broke one stud bolt from the chrome trim of the heating levers, because I tightenend it too much... :-\
Do you have any idea how i can fix the bolt?
Thank you very much for any help...
Regards
Manuel

That's going to be tricky because it is so small. A good re-chrome shop could cut it off, weld on a new one and re-chrome the part. Apart from that, I think you're faced with trying to purchase a new one or using an adhesive.

You may get away using some Q Bond as it does not need to be really tightened down, only held firmly against the dash. But like Ray said being so small will present a problem. Only other alternative is to see if a jeweller can silver smith it back together.

I had the same problem and my good friend Rodger fixed it perfectly. There is a small raised boss which has just enough meat to drill into and tap out enough threads to take a replacement stud. You have to be incredibly careful to not drill all the way through and need specialist equipment. But still probably cheaper than a replacement.

Hello,
I have done the "Andy" fix also. worked out fine. I don't think that you can weld a stud on this part, it is a zinc casting most likely.
