Title: Glove Box Door - Curved Rod replacement
Post by: Fdevita on November 19, 2014, 19:15:18
Has anyone had to replace the curved rod on their glove box door.  Mine is missing as well as the bezel and springs.  Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you

Tough job.  You will have to find a rod or have one made. Next it must be welded or brazed to the glove box door which may ruin the paint if you are not careful. The springs and the two netal "forks" are available.  If you can find someone parting a car out, you may be able to get a good used glove box door and have it re-painted to match your dash and change it.

Can anyone provide dimensions of the rod?  I can get the fastening knob replicated using the one that is attached to the side of the glove box where the other end of the springs attach.

Thanks in advance

It would almost pay to buy the second hand door that was in the ‘for sale’ area a couple of days ago ;)
