Title: If you could send a car to be restored where would you send it?
Post by: Bonnyboy on October 16, 2014, 17:55:21
A friend of a friend just bought a series 1.5 Jaguar E-type and wants to get it restored properly.  The car is in Hong Kong so he wants to ship it somewhere else.   Does anyone know of reputable restoration shops in out of the way countries where labour costs are reasonable that I could suggest to him.   I have heard about shipping cars to Portugal or Poland or Cuba but thought that I would ask the wisdom of this group before I suggest the guys down the street from me here in North Vancouver (RX) Canada.

Eagle are the world leaders in E types. Not cheap, but amazing. Like Keinle for Mercedes.

A friend of mine who is a bit of a car nut had his 1.5 done in Austin. Conveniently, he lives there but...

This is probably the best Jaguar restoration workshop in Australia at the moment, in Melbourne.

Will be very correct but will not cheap.

I suspect like good Mercedes restorations, you get what you pay for.
