Title: Wash Hose Lost It Way
Post by: RonB on September 27, 2014, 01:02:40
I have been unable to locate the hole the where goes from top of the cowl to the inside.

Been unable to locate the hole where the hose passes  thru to under the dash and goes to the washer fluid pump. No problem locating opening In firewall.

Need a little direction to locate the hold [280 71] Any help would be very much appreciated.

Ron,

I think your are best to take off the cowl, filter and then the vent flap so you can see down into the cavity.  I dont think you can do this without moving this gear.   Once its out you can shine a torch through the hole from the outside and easily locate it in the footwell.  Just have to be careful not to scratch the paint work trying to get recessed screws out and back in.  I used a dab of blue tack on the end of the screw driver to keep the screws where I wanted them.

I looked back through my photos to see if I could find a good shot but only found this one.  RHD may be different as well.

Hope this help.

Hi Ron,

I cleaned out my heater drains last October, and took these pics at the time, they may be of help to you, as I think the grey snake is the washer hose !.

There is an excellent write up in the technical manual regarding cowl removal at the end of the "drains" section - search for "heater drains" in the tech manual search.

Hope this helps,
good luck
Paul

This happened once before.  Here is the thread to that discussion - with photos that show the routing.

I hope it helps.

Found the open - looked thru the cowl vent - grouent is in the same aliment as the firewall open (closet the the fender).

One need's to break their neck and it there with flashlight in hand.

I found it worker to feed a coat hand wire from the cowl side to the grouament  then feed the ose on the and wire and pass it thu as a leader.

Thank for the help.  Id did several searchers to no avail.
