Years ago when I was restoring my 230SL I had too replace the original insulation on the Alum door skin. It was in bad condition. I used a cheap product from a retail auto store. I am not real happy with the product. I don't think it does enough to silence the door when closing it. Has anyone used a product that matches or exceeds the original MB material?
Please advise, Paul '63 230SL

Paul,
take a look at this web site. I have installed the CLD tiles in the doors and do like the result. Best part is that you only need a few and do NOT need to cover the whole door skin.

You do not need another barrier layer as described since the plastic sheet between the frame and door panel and the panel covered with MB-Tex or leather provide this function.
