My wife and I returned home yesterday from a month long journey through Europe. During our travels we spotted two pagodas in Enkirch Germany. They, of course, belong to Peter H ;) We had the pleasure of meeting Peter and his wife a few years ago while taking a cruise down the Mosel. This time we stayed overnight at their beautiful Hotel Neumuhle above Enkirch, overlooking the magnificent Mosel river valley and the lush vineyards. We had a marvelous evening with Peter and his friend, who also recently purchased a 280SL, talking about our mutual love of these cars. It was certainly one of the high lights of our trip for sure.
If any fellow forum members are lucky enough to visit this truly beautiful part of Germany, we highly recommend you plan a stay with Peter to see his Pagodas and enjoy his hospitality along with a glass or two of some Mosel Rieslings :).

John,
Great to see you continuing the tradition of meeting up Pagoda owners on your travels. I recommend it to everyone!

Hello Peter
We made as far north as Luxembourg on this trip. Will try and get to the Netherlands next time to meet you and share some of that great Dutch Beer:-)

I also want to discover good Dutch beer :-)

Ha ha... Heineken.... ;D

Oh Peter, ask your wife!
When I planned to visit you a few years ago and expressed a similar desire her quick response was " good Dutch beer? try Belgian!" :)

I rest my case

Hello John
It was a nice experience to see you again. We will visit you once in California to see your beautiful pagoda.
The question of the best beer can only be answered with German "Bitburger beer". :D
Greetings from the Mosel

You Guys clearly don't know that ;D = sarcasm. I think Heineken is overpriced, overrated stuff that's best exported. Oh wait, that's actually what we do... I prefer a Leffe, or a Duvel, or....
-
Peter you missed chimay. My absolute favorite.

German beer is best, beside Bitburger also Karlsberg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNeW4PgfDQM&html5=1

Funny how this thread has veered off in a different direction, as they often do :) I agree with Peter H that Bittburger is pretty darn good. We also like Weihenstephan and usually get a case of Spaten to celebrate Octoberfest. A bottle of Chimay is in the fridge which will be popped open this evening and served with dinner and my wife likes 1664 but she likes most things French :)
On the last day of our trip we drove from Stuttgart to Munich and planned on visiting the Hofbräuhaus but due to heavy rain we arrived to late and went directly to our hotel at the airport. After we got home we needed to resupply our pantry and Fridge so we journeyed to Costco and Lo and Behold look, what we found? Not the same as the real thing but a close second :)
To all my friends on this Forum.. Prost, à votre santé, Cheers (love Newcastle, Victoria Prima, Czech beer, Blue Moon, etc.....you name it)

I would like to endorse all that John has said about his stay with Peter and his family at his hotel in Einkirk in the Mosel.
My wife and I spent four very enjoyable days at Peters hotel on one of Peters specially arranged Pagoda weekends.
We were the only British guests on the weekend but we were made very welcome by everyone and felt very much part of the group.
When Peter arranges another Pagoda weekend in the future if you are free I would highly recommend you go along.

Thanks Eric, it was a lovely pagoda meeting in June. The weather was super and 25 nice pagoda riders were on the Mosel.
A beautiful tour along the Moselle valley and at the end a wine tasting on the vineyard, with the pagodas...........

On May was the first meeting with 30 pagodas. The weather was not quite as good, but all had a lot of fun.
