Very fun! I share the kinship, having had "PAGODA" while in Ohio, and now having "PAGODA 1" (and also "PAGODA 2") here in SoCal.

Here is a few more photos with "mmezesko' (Pagoda) and "Alex D" (Pagoda 1)

What colour is the car on the right (looks blue)?
-
James,
Paul P. just bought it. I don't have the code, but he says Mercedes calls it "blue", just blue.

Looks to me on the first glance like "903 blue".
Peter van Es' 280 is also 903.

Achim, mine is also 903 Blue the stamping on the plate inside the engine bay shows 903 H
I find the colour like most colours changes in different lights ... People seam to like the blue I do get a lot of comments on the colour.

Year but this blue does look darker than mine... And I've taken lots of photographs of mine.

Thanks. It looks like the colour of my car.

This is my car, I was sort of iffy on the color when I first got the car, but it has really grown on me. Like you said it changes color based on the lighting. The color gets tons of comments, and people ask what color it is and I say "blue," they always reply, "yeah, but what blue."
I've got quite few blue benzes, Horizon Blue, China Blue, Lapis Blue, Midnight Blue, and Magnetite Blue. Mercedes sort of phoned it in with 903 - Blue, I'd really hoped for a bit sexier of a name, but alas, its a pretty car none-the-less.

Swiss plate on the back, german plate on the front hmmm? origin is?
-
Hi Simon,
Car was originally my wife's father's car. Back in the 1960's he was sent to work in Switzerland from the US, and from what I can tell ordered the car directly from the factory. Car was registered in Switzerland, and then sent to the US when he was done working in Switzerland. I am almost sure it is the original Swiss plate in the back, and on the front I have a decorative German plate with 1967 250 SL. Thank you for noticing and since you brought it to my attention, I will look for a matching Swiss plate for the front.
