Title: 230SL Engine Rebuild Kit
Post by: dbenz on August 29, 2004, 08:26:16
Hi,

Need help -- is there a place that sells Engine Rebuild Kit's for a '65 230SL.

Looking for all the gaskets, bearings etc.

If no complete kit, who has the best quality stuff at a resonable price.  I'm removing the engine and figure I'd take the time and rebuild it while it is out.

Thanks for the replies --

SL Barn (our very own Dr Benz / Dan Caron in Canade) can supply you with the parts you need. Also, you can try Metric Motors in California. If you are in Europe, there are many specialized suppliers. You want specialized suppliers because you want to make sure you get the absolute correct parts. This will depend on the engine number etc.

Contact info is in the suppliers database:

Good luck, rebuilding these engines is a lot of fun, particularly if "all goes according to plan" !

Yes I do sell complete kits. The 230SL has at least 3 different piston types so serial number of engine is critical on that one.
