Hello all,
I have an early injection pump (S6KL70/120R11) with a significant oil leak that appears to be coming from the shut-off solenoid. Looks like oil is seeping from around the black end cap near the terminals. Solenoid part no. is (Bosch) 0330 101 009. I've read on this Forum where others have experienced the same oil leak but I've yet to find out where they got a replacement solenoid. Before I remove the solenoid, does anyone know where to get new one? I've searched the part number several times with no luck.
Has there been a part number revision? Can the solenoid be disassembled and resealed? thanks, Charles

Charles, make sure the oil level in the IP is not too high.

That happened on my '68 W111 solenoid. Mine is a later pump with the fed oil. The solenoid had a slime coming off the cap slowly forming a drip. Not a big deal but bothered me.
I bought a used solenoid from Pacific Fuel and it resolved the issue. Not sure if he has any more.
You will also need the gasket for the solenoid to the pump body. Some of the new replacements are too hard and the leak will be worse than what you have now. I used 1/32" 80 shore A Nitrile (NBR) rubber sheet and made my own gasket. Dry as a bone. Old gaskets are good to use as long as you don't ruin them when removing. Rubber sheet can be bought from McMaster Carr.

I just checked the IP oil level and found it way too high - I'll siphon off the excess and see if that resolves the leak. If not, I'll contact Pacific Fuel and inquire about a used solenoid. thanks again, Charles
