This seems a lot of money, but then when you consider the cost of parts, it could be worth it as a donor car?

Ouch! Makes that one I listed on here last year a screaming deal at $9,000. At least that one ran and had lots of mechanicals done and was complete - and I got no responses to my listing and now they are going for $23,000+?. Now was it a real sale or a bait and switch.
When I was researching the values of a 190sl that I was helping to sell, I found several ads that showed as sold but would show up again somewhere else as for sale or sold by a different company. I then talked to a couple guys in the know and they suggested that a good percentage of sales on the net that look like they are too good to be true (either too high or too low) are not valid sales. Many are just marketing schemes for a company or service.

I suppose you're right Mark -interior, soft top, various chrome bits, engine. The body looks too knackered to donate much from. It may be that it is some sort of marketing ruse but there are ebay fees to be paid - seems a pricy way to do it

I am readying my 65 230 for sale this summer and really wonder what would be its value, sans appraisal, or would that be the best route. I paid 11K 10 years ago. Is there a good place to start this process? thanks- jack

Jack,
I think a lot of people on the Forum have a pretty good idea what a Pagoda is worth in their region if they have a good honest description of the car and a couple of photos so here is a good place to start. I am sure you will get some preliminary interest as well as comments and gestimates.
