Title: Members in/near Alexandria VA who can recommend a good garage

I may *MAY* have found a w124 that is worth getting someone to take a look at. I'm based in Germany and so flying over to see the car is not an option. Instead, I'll need someone trusted to take a look at the car for me. To that end, and assuming we have no w124 ninjas on here who live in or near enough Alexandria, VA, can anyone recommend a good shop who should know MBs well enough to take a look at the car? I have, with the help of some members here, compiled a check list for the 124 but I'd also want the car to be driven just to see how it feels, and also to look at the underside with a view to worn components and any previous crash damage.

I'm waiting for the vendor to reply to me (may never happen) but if he can answer my questions properly, the car may be worth a look.

Any recommendations and points of contact/advice gratefully received. All I know at present is that the owner is listed as being in Alexandria, VA. Hopefully more detail will be forthcoming!

PS - this may not be the first post of it's kind, so on the plus side by the end of it, I should be able to compile a list of recommended shops across the US!

Soooo, none of our American members live in the Capitol, or know of any good garages in DC. Seriously?

5 mins of you time, chaps, please! I'm a bit stuck without a recommendation for a shop (assuming I can convince the would-be vendor to take it there; that's the next problem).

Someone must know a good MB specialist I can call.

When I was trying to find someone to look at my Pagoda, I came across this group; the guy who looked at my car was actually the guy that started it, and overall it was worth getting them to look at the car.

Maybe they will have someone nearby.

You might want to try Don Pool, over in Falls Church VA.
Don’t have his number, but a quick google search turns up: 703-534-4222

He is a nice fellow and knows his Mercedes cars.

I can also vouch for Don Pool.  He always went out of his way to help me and was very fair and does good work.   He is a nice guy also.
