Title: Winters Drive
Post by: Garry on June 06, 2014, 07:15:42
It was a nice day around The Rock so took the beast for a drive to enjoy the early days of winter.  Bit cold for top down, it was only about 15c.

Garry,

if +15C means cold winter in your standards, then in my view you are one of the few blessed with a all-year-round opportunities to enjoy your automotive Significant Other...

Given it is only the start of winter we will get some days where it may not get above 6-8c and even down to -2 over night :o :o but that is only a few days a year with the low winter mean average around 14c. in July

The car really likes the cooler weather.  I pushed it to 100mph and it was still pulling strongly. Finance Minister put the brake on!  First time I have had it there since the new motor has been in 3000 miles ago(legal speed limit 100km 62mph so a very little used straight back country road near home). ;D ;D

Nice photos Garry! I am afraid our spring has turned into summer a bit early this year. I took my car down for service a couple of days ago and had intended to enjoy a nice topdown drive. By the time I was preparing to leave home, it was fast approaching 90f(32c) so flipped the ST up to keep me from being cooked. This weekend it will be over a 100(38c) so the car will be in the garage and my navigator and I will be indoors with the A/C on. Can hardly wait until the "real" summer starts not to mention California is dry as a bone. End of the world >:(

John

PS The fastest I ever drove my SL was 110mph on the the San Diego FWY (now known as the 405) late one night back when I (and my car) were in our youth. Much more sedate now a days:-)
