Dear Friends,
i have a problem with my '69 280SL: i can't understand where to to place the car jack in the trunk. I can't see any binding on the trunk floor (i built the support in the photo myself in order not to make the car jack move) and also the photos i foud in other posts were from older models and even conflicting.. here some photos, i hope that someone with my same car will help me!
P.s do anyone know where i can find a new plastic carpet for the trunk? Mine is obviously not original and here in Italy i couldn't find nothing similar..
Tank you in advance!

Looks to me like your trunk floor has been replaced at some time and
the parts for the jack support have not been put back.
Pictures are a little small to see all the detail.

Thank you for your reply Larry, perhaps you are right because there isn't any sign of welding.. di you have any photo to make me understand how to fix the problem?

Once again thank you for your answer, do you have a photo from the other side? I can't see how the part near the spare wheel support is made..

Thank you Larry, with the help of your photo i found the original spare part at the MB reseller of my town! I don't want to abuse of your kindness, but do you know any website/reseller where i can find a spare plastic carpet for my trunk? As you can see mine is not original and i'd like to replace it with one more similar to the original..

Pleased you got the jack sorted.
I do not know where to get the correct trunk mat, sorry. But the original
mats cause the trunk floor to ' sweat' and can retain dampness which accelerates the
rusting process. I have replaced my mat with a carpet like material as have many owners.
Hope this helps
Larry
