Title: spot the wrong things in this exotic restoration
Post by: Flyair on December 20, 2013, 20:11:02
a quite peculiar slideshow about a Pagoda restoration...

I saw two flaws in this presentation (paint inside the trunk and the headlines)...

Any better spots?

I guess we can snicker a bit about a few "terrible" mistakes that make the purists puke but I would be happy to park it under my car port any time.

Sure, the Workplace Health and Safety inspectors might have a field day with some of their workshop practices but once again, feel free to park it at my place.

Could not agree more George.
As long as she's solid, looks good and drives well, i'd be happy.

I'm not sure whats amusing about it...  Here's people who completely disasemble this old babe, demolish a wall to assemble it, seem to live in a remote village where a W113 may have never been before, and the olny thing they overlook is the undercoating.  They painted the steering wheel?  The colors aren't quite authentic? No I wouldn't through her out of bed yet. I gotta admit she's a beauty, And they got best hot old car.  Beauty is not only skin deep on a W113, I wonder how well they rebuilt the mechanicals: How well does she handle a road? Can she dance?

I think we have to give the A-Team a big thumbs up (http://www.m3post.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif) for a job well done and to Mr. "A" too for giving the team a job.

I couldn't watch it; apparently whoever created this Youtube used copyrighted music and images, and thus it was blocked from "viewing in your country."

Interesting, I just watched it, no block?? Most amazing rebuild. Yes, a number of details, but appears to have been done quite solidly

I tip my hat to those guys. Sure, the car looked pretty solid to start with and so was a fairly "easy" restoration (refurb would be a better word) and there are few few incorrect details but what happens at 7.39 in the video is what it's really all about!

Flat panel area behind grill body color, white, as opposed to black (or tiefdunkelgrau or whatever other dark color is appropriate).
