A couple of pagodas for sale with this dealer.
No affiliation with cars or seller.

there are actually three, but the early 230SL looks that it has certain incorrect details, such as the headrests, which must be later add-ons ...
But the prices...... WOW
-
There are a couple of funnies on those cars that are add-ons, or - more worryingly - missing. But the engine bays are certainly pretty too look at.
Never head of the seller. Great name for a car dealer, though; if one is an alliteraist.

I know, it seems as though a nice looking rhd 280 can command anything from £85k upwards!
James, whatever do you mean?
-
You're right, Ifty; you smoked my in accurate grammar. Clearly it isn't alliteration, but I was seeking to be subtle. And failing. Badly.
-
Something to do with rhyming slang?

There seams to be quite a few on the market in the UK …
Here --->http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/31/pagoda/
Also here (a few Pagoda's a 190 SL and a 300 SL as well as a JFK Presidential Car. Some interesting reading in the following PDF fuel.

I would never purchase one from a dealer, prices seam quite inflated to me.

Oops and I was just thinking how horrible all three engine bays appeared. In that price range one could expect more even from a dealer like that, or maybe not?
-
Hans,
I know what you mean. They're not 'correct' but to get those 3 cars looking like that they clearly have a system for cosmetic tarting-up. I wish my engine bay was that tidy, but still maintained its correctness. So, same bits, and layout, just less oil, grease, fewer dead flies, moths, etc.

The green one is truly shocking 97k GBP and under offer- I am in the wrong business! missing rear qtr trims, suspension towers crudely painted and overspray on engine compartment components etc etc. I was going to reserve judgement on the ryhming nature of the dealers name..but this car makes any such rhyme justified...."that dealer is a right Graeme Hunt" :)
-
I vaguely remember the green 280 being advertised a couple of years ago at an auction house and selling for around £28k.
It has clearly had some work cariied out to it but nearly £100k. Wow indeed!!

Mr Hunt's prices seem generally on the high end. Have a look at what he's asking for old Range Rovers (his speciality) - and his location is hardly the low-rent district
