Price / spec?

The car looks very well and the price seems in line what you see elsewhere in Europe.... alas high. If you look for one, the best idea would be to check with Colin. He might even know this car, I bet...

One thing that strikes me is the missing chrome trim on the rear wings - in worst case they were lost in repair after being hit from behind, best case scenario is that someone forgot to put them back on after a respray...
-
Ulf,
I noticed that in many other Pagodas this part is missing. Same for the chromed part above the registration numbers' plate at the far part.
So maybe this is not characteristic at a car with an accident in its records...

While the car looks nice, the price seams high at almost $90K US … I agree with Stan, I would touch base with Colin before I pull the trigger on that one unless like Peter mentioned in another thread the purchaser makes money hand over fist on daily interest that he does not care. :)
My observation would be the paint job looks rather dull for a blue metalic finish also looks like it has no hardtop unless I missed it (did not read the entire description).

EVERY close up shot of the paint looks horrible...

Yes absolutely, I agree...its not smooth, more like orange peel...From a dealer, I think this car is slightly overpriced...should be more like £35k...

Why is the enginebay black ?
-
Basil, it just confirms that it is most likely a home made job, certainly not by someone that knows what he / she is doing :)

If I didn't see the listing I would think it was a resurected barn find. The leather on the tonneau cover has a seam in it - did they run out of material? The engine bay has too much rusty surfaces and missing paint to suggest a pampered car. The dash looks to be a different colour suggesting a quick spray job. The picture of the boot (automatic sign) shows bubbling under the paint and what appears to have been rust through on the bottom of the boot lip with bondo filling in the gaps.
The hubcaps are scratched - a professional job would have those done first.
What concerns me is not what I see but what I don't - it looks too clean to be an honest car - the rockers are in good condition but what's underneath? why is the car listing to the driver's side.

Whilst it does seem overpriced, I think £35k might be a little optimistic.
Complete restoration rhd 280s now sell for over £20k at auction.

You should take that the new price cap for a nearly perfect Pagoda is 200,000 Euro... obviously if the seller is called Brabus or something similarly high end name.

In other words, 60,000 Euro purchase price + say 40,000 in restauration still makes you a decent 100% profit :)
