can anyone tell me why my new topic posts go away after i log off?

It did not go away it was moved ...

Rok,

As Rolf-Dieter said, it was moved by one of several moderators who will move a topic from the General area of the Forum to theTopic Specific area if it appears to be in the wrong area.  I suggest that this has happened to your original post, not by me but by another Moderator.
