Can anyone recommend a mechanic or shop who could do an inspection in the West Chester, PA area?
Any members living in that area who might be willing to take some photos?

Alfred,
did you check on Google by typing in "Mercedes Car Repair in West Philadelphia area"
There seam to be quite a few listings … perhaps you like to call them.

Hi Rolf-Dieter,
that is a possibility but now I would be adding another task on top of it, how to check out the repair shops.
Several years ago when I was searching for a 280SL I called up a shop in the area where I found a car and pretended to bring in a Pagoda for an oil change. During the conversation I mentioned that I had run out of the seal in the top of the oil filter canister but hoped that he would have one in stock. "Sure we do. All the seals you need are in the OEM kit that we buy " was the answer! :o
After a bit more probing it became clear that this "Mastermechanic" had never seen one!
So, no members in the Philly area who could make suggestions or help?

Alfred, why not PM some of the active (as of reasond past) members from the member list … perhaps you get a reply back from near the area where the car is now.

For example 280 SE Guy (Bob) has an extensive photo web site, perhaps he can help out.
If you go thru his photo sections Bob has a Mercedes 1st place award from "Red Kiefer's Auto Repair" they are located at 1404 Ben Franklin Hwy E, Douglassville, PA 19518, United States. Bet Bob had a lot of work done there? Worth a check if not too far from the car location (looks like a 44 mile north of Philly drive)
