Passed a garage near my home and spotted this red 280 SL The owner is Dale the garage propriotor had a nice chat with Dale and gave him an extra Pagoda windshield sticker (since Mark was so kind to send out a few extra ones). :)
Dale told me that the car was oriinally delivered to California to someone that then later sold it or traded it for a late 50s Corvette ??? (what was the fellow thinking :)). Apparently the exterior got some damage durinng the Mount St Helen disaster and needs a complete exterior paint job. Dale went on that the engine also needs some work. I ask him to join our Pagoda SL Group and told him about our New Member Introduction Thread to tell us the full story. Hope he does, after all he is a car repair shop owner and may be of help to us all like Benz Dr, Joe A. and so many more.

I have to stop by Dale's Garage again and see if he is doing any work on his new find. Here and then I pass by and see the car outside, other days not. On weekends he hides her inside the shop I don't blame him :)
BTW in the background on the third photo you can spot my new E350 ;D

If he's anything like me it won't happen quickly. :)
We managed to send one home this month but then two more showed up this month so I'm not really moving ahead I guess. That makes seven cars we need to get sorted out this year and next. One is nearly finished, one is finished and is here for a few small things, one is sold and needs to be picked up, another one is here for mechanical sorting before being shipped to Europe or sold here, another one is coming tomorrow for full engine build and body restoration and the last one is here for mechanicals and a cylinder head rebuild. All are 230 or 280SL's. My own car probably won't see any work ( again ) this winter. Oh, and we are in the middle of another 600 project plus a 190SL that came in boxes of parts.
Lots of work - I just wish that I felt better. It's almost a full time job ordering parts and getting all of the leg work done.

Update... I passed by the garage today and noted a FOR SALE sign in the window. Apparently the boys gave the car a mechanical make over and had a paint job done .... The asking price is $55K Canadian. I understand from the owner the price is negotiable.
Should any of you be interested PM me and I shall forward you the location of the car,
