It has been nearly 2 months since we have had our car out for a ride (other then last weekend when we took it out for a quick around the block to, belatedly, celebrate our car’s 45th Birthday:-) So with it being a near perfect fall day with temps in the upper 70’s, we headed out this morning. The car ran perfectly and it was a spectacular day for a drive. We always say to each other how much fun it is to be out and about in our old friend. We put about another 80 miles on the odometer before we reluctantly pulled back into our garage. The attached photo was taken a few miles from where we live on “the shortest highway in California” (.5 mile) which leads to a monument for James Marshall, who discovered gold nearby back in 1848.

PS It looks like another 49er, Mr. Kaepernick had a pretty good day over in London today as well:-)

Hello Garry, Hope some of that rain makes it up to Sydney and the rest of New South Wales. Maybe rain here tomorrow which is a good thing as our reservoirs are getting mighty low.

In Poland we had also a very appropriate weather for top-down Pagoding most of the last week, with sunny days and temperatures exceeding 20C at times. Artur and I had a great Pagoda tour yesterday. Although in my case it was a bit shorter, Artur spent nearly his entire day in his Pagoda ;D

After a rainy Saturday, we had a bit of sunshine in southern Ontario Sunday morning and the temperature wasn't as cold as I had expected, so I also went out for a short but delightful ride in the Pagoda with the top still down. A cousin from Germany is visiting and he much enjoyed being the passenger in our trusty bit of German heritage. Fall colours here have pretty much finished. When we got back to the house, we flipped up the soft-top, anticipating colder temperatures from here on.
