Our mechanic here in Charleston wv is working on a 230sl tranny, and needs the modulator diaphragm. It is basicall a rubber seal. They have had 55 requests for these at the Classic Center, but they don't have any, and won't have any. Does anyone have any idea where we can find them. I have sent message to Joe A. and Benz.Dr also.

Unless Google gets fooled by the web sites it searches. :(
Many parts vendors pretend they have the part to lure you to the sight and then ask to call them. PartsTrain is just one of several.
The hope is that you might buy something else.

Hi,
try this: http://www.carparts-pros.com/page_1_3.php#oeformo
The diaphragm part no A1122700079. Enter this number (searching with NO exact matching) and you will get it.
I took my chance and placed the order. We will see what will happen...

66 and blue-------Parts train did exactly what you said. They list that they have it, but they don't. I would hope that Mercedes would have these. Even on our transmission tech site, it explains how important this part is.
-
artur, they say they have the part, but it is in Europe somewhere, and the price is in Euro's-can't take the chance on that one
-
Rmmchl,
What's the problem with Euro? 25 Euro = ~ 36 $. They are from Germany.
Diaphragm is so small that the cost of shipment will be around 10$.
On the other hand I'm not sure they really have it. I ordered one piece, paid via Paypal and received the confirmation from them.
We will see. Let you know.

sometimes when things are ordered from out of the us, it can take weeks to get here.

You're absolutely right. It happened recently to me, although in the reverse direction. When ordered a piece from a seller based in Virginia, it NEVER arrived to me. The carrier (UPS) advised it got lost between the seller and their first collection point. Go figure :D
Actually, after two months, I got the money back, although after the double Foreign Exchange operation I got much less than the original money spent.

Michael, I find to check with Tom H. at the Classic Centre is your best bet ... he is very helpful.
