I wanted to take advantage of a beautiful autumn evening and went for some Pagoding around the southern outskirts of Warsaw. I drove on rather small roads and enjoyed my ride immensely up to the point where a very intrusive member of the Pagoda fan club barred the route. After due consideration, I was not, so to speak, bullish on him and preferred to give in, slowly pushing back on reverse. I was glad my Pagoda isn't red ;D

Nice shot. Below are some encounters I made in July. No need to say that when I took the first picture, I was only moderately comfortable:

GGR ... I'll take the horses :) always nice to take three additional PS ;D
Flyair, dis the fellow have horns? :)
Great photos all around ... I have a few when I lived out west with Grizzly Bears, Rams and Moose on the road ... (photos are somewhere in shoe boxes) ;D

I actually hit a cow once but not with my car. Damned thing wouldn't get out of my way so I clobbered it. Nurse asked me what happened to my hand ( I was about 14 at the time ) and I said I got into a fight. Looks like the other guy was bigger than you was all she said. If only she knew how much biger it really was.......

The fellow was rather young, so no horns or very little. This however didn't give me any reassurance. An older bull could have had some respect to vintage cars while the younger specimen couldn't care less, I suppose >:(

As a matter of interest, is your interior MBtex or..... one of his ancestors?
-
James,
Fortunately it is MBTex, but I bet that a youngster like this would charge first, and look what is on the seats after, I guess ;D

Cattle are not particulaly bright, far less than a dog or even a pig. They will usually run away if chased unless it's a cow with a calf and that may only be a problem if you get too close and even then not very often. The idea that thery will charge at you is pretty much false.
However, if you see one with its ears back and head raised heading toweards you, you better get the hell out of the way! :o If you calmly back away they usually won't come near you. Stand still long enough and the whole herd will all come over to sniff at you.
When we had cattle here I could look at an entire herd and pick out the one that was a bit on the edge - you know the one with it's ears back with that crazy white eyed stare? This type usually is the first to run away from you and not charge. It's all about watching what they do and knowing what to do. I can tell you one thing though - I don't miss them one bit. :)

I always thought this forum is a great place for exchanging ideas. But could one ever expect to get enlightened about the cattle while chatting about Pagodas ??? ;D
