does anyone have a few pictures of A 113 on this color? It is anthracite gray.
I already bought the paint but the test shows darker than I thought....
help!!

thanks!!! I agree about membership but I saw that picture in the open forum. That is the picture that made me buy this color but somehow mine looks darker, that is the reason why I wanted to see other pictures.
My sample was shoot without primer so that may have to do with it being darker. Or it may also have to do with the comtrast created by the leather color.

Consider that your car may have been re-painted or the colour was not perfectly matched. I hope someone may post some photos for you.
BTW. In our M3 forum we have exterior colour threads ... perhaps we should start some colour threads here in this forum :) that would be the answer.

Anthracite is a color that has many different looks to it depending on the lighting. The light has a lot to do with what the gray looks like, in the shade you would think it's black, in the sun it's a totally different look.

As already stated, the color looks different in different light.
It might be interesting for you to know I have purchased a can of paint using the code 173G and it matches my paint.
If you search my posts, you will find other pictures of my car.

Thank you guys for the replies. I noticed the same thing as one commented. This color is very dark when not under the sun or heavy light conditions. I love the way it looks under the sun but it is a bit too dark. So I am going to try and sample color 190G and see how I like it. It seems a bit lighter than 173. I also liked 172.

I have a 172G, but even I wanted to have some parts repainted I learnt that there were 3 types of 172g depending on the year. Apparently there is a component that gives an olive aspect depending on light. So it can be gray where there is no sun or dark olive under bright sun. Quite pleasant effect I must say

Not to poop in your Corn Flakes but what was the original color of your car and interior color? If you are considering a color other than the original paint on your car, in the future it will be probably valued down by the cost of your repaint of a different color. Likewise an original color repaint will probably increase the value of a future sale.
By the way I am partial to the 173 Anthracite Grey.

I am not sure what the true original color of the car is. I think is a type of white with black interior which is far from what I would call unique (not harm intended to those who own this combo). The other thing is that after buying my car I learned it does not have a matching number engine so that at that point I decided to paint it in whichever color I like.
Franz in San Diego advised me to either sell it or turn it into parts and get my money back but I got sentimental and decided to restore my baby....so my next stop is to choose color and I still think that I want to paint it in what I like and not what I should. My choices still are 190, 172, 461 or 728 which lately I have been gravitating towards.
I am going to sherwin williams this week and I'll try all the combos above. Hopefully one of this will be the color.

I find the 173 very elegant and would not change it, if I may suggest anything. By comparison, my 172 looks a bit brighter.
BTW, you can see the different aspects of the paint depending on the light. All the three pics are of my car. The first two were taken in Willingen.
On the middle pic, my Pagoda is second from the right, after Artur's.
The last one was taken in 2009 prior to the renovation.

All of you anthracite gray owners are very lucky as I believe it is a rare color for the that time period.

This is what mine looks like most of the time.
I believe this is a full cloud cover day and the light is diffused but bright.
All of the greys and colors, in general, are fantastic.
The cars look great in all shades of all the colors that were available.
I would not be able to decide which to choose, if I had a choice.
Thank goodness I am a simple guy and would just go with the way it came originally.
By the way, I don't have those license plates anymore ... or the muffler tips. ;D

That is the color I felt in love with Iconic. Exactly that color combination.
While looking for colors I found the bronze brown. I bought a sample and shoot it and looks gorgeous. Has anyone seen this color on a SL?

Yesterday a friend of mine gave me a ride in his mc laren p12 i think it is. Man, that thing was so incredibly fast it made me think twice about going vintage. It was 12am and he got on a loop on thr north bound of I5 here in San Diego and before he hit the next exit we were doing 175mph. That car is soo fast and it brakes so hard. Amazing....
