Title: Washer pump hose connections
Post by: jpsenft on September 23, 2013, 21:09:48
I am working on my washer system (elbow at washer jet broken), and note that my current hose connections at the pump have the tube from the washer bag going to nipple B, and the tube going to the cowl nozzle at nipple D.  This is opposite of what the technical manual states:
◾The Pump is marked “D” at the terminal for the tube coming from the fluid supply bottle and is marked “B” at the terminal for the tube going the connector near the firewall.

As I have a strong flow now thru the broken elbow, does it really make a difference which hose is connected to which pump nipple?  Any idea what the "D" and "B" stand for?  Most likely in German...
Thanks,
Jim

"d" is for druck (sp?) German for pressure.

I am humbly suggesting that the information in the Technical Manual for the washer pump connections is in error.  This morning, I hooked up the pump to test hoses into/out of a bucket of water, and most definitely the nipple labeled "B" is the supply water into the pump, and the nipple labeled "D" is the pressurized output to the nozzle.  Reversed, it does not work.    This is consistent with what Al stated that "D" stands for pressure.   In addition, the pressure nipple is "barbed" consistent with pressure fittings, and the input nipple  is smooth, consistent with  suction fittings.
Thanks, Jim

Jim,

please update the Technical Manual with your findings...
