Title: need help on gap between chrome sill runner and footwell side valance
Post by: rutger kohler on September 07, 2013, 07:34:52
I am putting my chromed aluminium door sill runners back in the car.  I have noticed a gap between the runner and the side valance, by the footwell that is caused by the electrical wiring loom sticking out too far, I think.  Didn't actively notice a gap when i took the sill runner out,  how can I minimise the gap?  Have attached a picture but the flash hasn't really shown the gap up very well, it about 4 to 5 mm and too big to leave.

Hi Kevin, thanks for that, how wide would you say the gap was in imperial 1/4" or 3/16"?

Hi Kevin, thanks for that.  Overnight I asked a professional restorer about the gap.  He checked two pagodas he had in his shop and they had no gap. I went back and took the valance off, and the fibreboard shield under the glove box. I found that the valance had slipped down behind the loom cable, when I lifted it up and rested it on top of the cable,  before securing, everything came together and I now have no gap.  Thanks for coming back to me though.

cheers
