Title: Leather or MB Tex on soft top cover
Post by: Valvechatter on August 29, 2013, 10:25:38
I have MBTex seats in my 1969 280SL. Does that also mean that the material on the soft top cover is MB Tex or might it be leather?
Thanks.

Same material as the seats. If the seats are MBTex, the cover will be too.

Lin,
The material  is the same as the seats. Be sure you get your build sheet from the classic center to see if what your car matches the way it came from the factory.
A valuable piece of information.

I have a 70 280 SL, I have the build sheet from Mercedes showing that my car was manufactured with leather seats (and door panels) however I have MB Tex on the top boot.
