Title: BREAK DOWN "ON THE ROAD" STORIES
Post by: 250SLFranco on July 15, 2013, 17:07:58
I have been taking my 250SL on many road trips this summer and in the back of my mind the lingering thought of "what might break down while I'm on the road".  It would be interesting to hear stories of mechanical break downs while on the road....might give many of us a heads up of what to be alert to on road trips!
Thanks....

The most common cause of break downs is aftermarket alarms/immobilsers. If you have one of these you should get to know where the critical connections are so that you can "uninstall" them if necessary.
On more than one occasion I have broken down and been able to get going again in minutes because I knew a) what to expect and b) how to fix it.
