Post by: billeve on July 14, 2013, 23:36:40
When decelerating my 1969 280SL goes from 4th to neutral at 38mph, is this normal?  At any speed between 15-38mph it will engage to 3rd if start to accelerate again. ???

Are you sure it goes into "neutral", or does your car have one of these fuel shut off switches that is activated upon decelaration?

Your poll cannot be answered with the options provided. Because the question itself lists two possible answers but the answers are not those two.

Make sure your fluid level is correct.  It should be between the marks when running in park, warmed up on perfectly level ground. The quanitity of fluid between the two marks in one pint !
