I performed the repair by sleeving the spring with a brass tube exactly as described in the technical manual here:

It works perfectly!

My problem with the glovebox is the stop when it is opened fully. How it is supposed to be stopped? Since now the mechanism with the spring just hits to the backplate of the dashboard and tries to "escape" in the cabin.

can you post a photo - similar to the one in the technical manual - so we can see what your spring looks like?
There is a quarter-circle bar that hits the side rime of the box and stops the door when you open it.

JUst an fyi, I bought a brass sleeve and was planning on doing this repair while I had the glovebox out last week but I discovered that Buds Benz has the springs for a very low price. Something like $20 or $30. Their little end pieces didn't fit, but the old ones don't normally get damaged.
