Title: Oil level on dipstick
Post by: Larry & Norma on June 18, 2013, 13:06:30
After a 200 mile trip I checked the oil level on the dipstick the following day, it was down about halfway
between bottom and top mark. Topped it up to top mark, ran the car again, checked level when cold and found it way over!
Had to let some oil out of the oil cooler ???
Anyone seen this?
Normally the engine uses very little oil.

Possible you put too much to top it up?

I wonder if you checked the level so quickly that all of the oil hadn't drained into the pan?

The level was checked the day following the drive out.
My question is that is it possible that the oil does not fully drain down
for some reason?
