Came across this on eBay tonight ... a '65 230SL that has been converted to an electric drivetrain. Appears to use conventional lead-acid batteries, so only a range of 30 miles. Price of 35K USD includes the engine that came out of it. Certainly unique!

It's been advertised several times over the years.
It's good to know that the petrol heads still outnumber the greens!
