I have a 65 230 SL that is at the start of a major fix. My fule injection pump was bad and i found a replacement from a fellow group member based in Sweden, who had a connection in Germany.
It arrived damaged due to shipping. Specifically there is a rack in the housing. I have provided the picture.
While we work that out with the shipping company as far as responsibility, can this be repaired stated? I live in Sacramento, Ca.
What would you do?
Any and all help and direction is greatly appreciated.
Novice Jim.

If it is just where something attaches, I would try to repair it, for example with JB Weld or some other industrial-strength two-component glue provided what attaches to it does not need to be bolted down with a lot of force. Welding seems like it would require dismalntling of the housing and then you're looking at a lot of specialized work and cost.

Since the shipping co is going to have to pay then you should take it to a specialist who can strip and repair, either by welding and machining or replacing the case.
