Title: attaching covers to door panels
Post by: Fintail on May 07, 2013, 18:25:39
Good evening all

A 280sl needs interior tidy, a kit obtained in leather from the US. Seats done. My question if I may is are the preformed leather covers attached only on the rear side with Glue/staples or is the entire door card glued. The old covers were vinyl with thin foam back and fully glued to the card.

Thank you in advance

Leather (or vinyl) is glued and stapled to the back (outside) of the cards.
The cards are retained in place by the various trims.

"Outside the cards" - what do you mean by "the cards"?
Thanks,

The "cards" are the cardboard or masonite like panels that the soft upholstery material is attached (glued) to.
Outside of the cards refers to the side closest to the exterior of the car.
