Hello.
After putting in a overhauled engine in the car i didn't notice any difference in oil consumption compared to the other engine. Now, a year later, it looks like the consumption is less than before. Is it just an idea or is this known as normal for overhauled engines?

Before my overhaul, I was using 1 litre per 10km, most of it out the dipstick :o :o :o after the engine overhaul, 1/2 litre per 1000km ;D ;D ;D

Wow...thats a huge difference. But you are talking about the difference in consumption between old and new.
I was talking about oil consumption from an engine that's just put in and after a year.
I'm not a person who check every time what the consumption is. But now i get the idea that there is a difference, and i will check how much it uses indeed.

The engine in my 250 SL was overhauled before I purchased it (10 years ago, wow the time doth fly!). I have consistently gotten about 1 qt per 1000 miles. As another reference point, the engine in the 280 SL (140k miles) does about 1 qt per 1500 miles.
