Title: 5 Speed ZF'ers
Post by: George Des on July 14, 2004, 19:40:49
I was recently able to purchase a workshop manual for the S5-20 5 speed transmission that some of us have. Not sure others are aware of this, but the manual is available new from MIE--a Maerati supplier. The same transmission with a different linkage system was also used in some Maseratis.  The manual contains all the schematics including part numbers and assembly/disassemby instructions, special tools, lube recommendations, etc. Schematics of the transmission linkage as used in our cars are also included. The manual is in German, but an English translation is provided on the next page for each illustration. Anyone interested in acquiring one of these is directed to <http://www.maseratinet.com>

Thats useful info George !  I often wondered if there were other cars that used this box. I dont have it and the chance of finding a broken Maserati here in Ireland is a bit of a laugh but none the less do you know which model it was used in ??

Ben in Ireland.

George, thanks. I am in the process of trying to order one of these from Maserati as well. This sounds like a wonderful lead if these trannys are the same as ours (except for linkage)    -JP-
