Title: Hazard Light Switches

Hi All,   I would like to exchange my 1970 earlytype  Hazardlightswitch for a latertype (illuminatedknob) switch.
Now I run into the question of how to change pinnings.

The earlytype connector has:
   L              R
54BL          30
54S            31
The latertype connector has:
 15             31
 49a           30
  L                R

The million dollarquestion:   Can I just change the pinnings  and run:
54BL  into  15
54S    into  49a

Did some digging myself : for those who want to know:

#1  Change the Pinnings as follows:

30+  battery+     red/white
49a  To turnsignalswitch    black/white/yellow
L   black/white
R  black/green
31  brown
15  ignition+   black/green/white   (comes through  old flasherrelay)

#2  Bridge the old Flasherrelay connector
