Title: Time Cold Start Valve
Post by: Eminent on February 20, 2013, 20:52:02
Hello pro's.
My W108 is running on LPG (GPL). The "problem" from running on this fuel is that the lines from the injection are empty each time i start the car.
This makes it difficult to start.
So my idea is to let the CSV do his work a bit longer.
Is the time that the CSV work adjustable? I believe it now works around a second or so, the first time i start the car.
The second time is way shorter, think this is normal.
Thanks for your answers.

hello,
I have curiosity can operate the fuel pump when you remove the fuel supply?

The fuelpump is always running, also on LPG.
When the car switch over at LPG a vacuumpiston pushes against the rack in the injectionpump so there is no fuel transport to the injectors.

Hello Eminent,

If you hook a jumper wire from ground (earth) to the "W" terminal (larger hex screw) of your themo time switch, your CSV  will activate as long as your starter is activated.  You can also hook a manual remote button switch (inside the car), to the CSV so you can activate it before and during starts.

Thanks Joe.
In case of the jumper wire, the original wire stays connected to this terminal also?

Yes, the original wire can stay connected.  Experiment with just a jumper wire with alligator clips at each end first, to see how much it helps.
