Title: 280sl for sale that massages my ego;D
Post by: Flyair on January 07, 2013, 18:12:57
I just found it thorough Mercedes Benz Classic website this 280SL sold by MBUSA for the price that I will let you discover for yourselves.

No doubt it is a meticulous restoration (although not always original: look at seat belts) that is very superlative in all aspects. Nevertheless, the conclusion I drew is that I think we can definitely revise our often too modest valuations of our humble Pagodas.

Michael's Salemi's car does not look any worse, I suppose, so Michael, you know that you have a jewel at home :)

Sorry but shouldn't an Auto box say Automatic on the trunk lid or was that label an option?

Nice car though.

Its my understanding that cars in Germany stated "Automatic" as it was somewhat prestigious (?). The sign was not included on automatic cars made for the US market.

the last one not only has the engine bay printed in black, but also black door upholstery panels, while the seats are blue. First time I can see such "deviations"...

John,
If you look at the last two pictures, you will see that actually hubcaps are not painted in black, but in darker blue, the same blue as the hardtop color. In fact this is correct match, unlike the other stuff mentioned before. :)

Lars,
nice catch of the day for the first one. I appreciated the description saying that :
"It has Factory Air Conditioning, Heated Seating, Becker Mexico Radio & iPod & Phone Connection; including Central Locking. This car is as near as you can get to a new Pagoda".

In other words, according to the seller I-Phone connection and heated seats were options at the time the car was produced? Ot did I miss anything? ;D
Next time we will learn that Pagoda was offered with Hybrid engine and ejectable seats… although the last one may have been the factory but dealer's option ;D ;D ;D
