I thought I would start a thread where peolpe could post their best "free" app for songs to listen to while driving their favorite car.
There is a great app called 8 tracks, http://8tracks.com/iphone, that is free and is a huge compilation of songs other people put together into different categories, like a **** load of mixed tapes. If you download the app, go to the "70's" and then go to "**** your Parents Drive To". Great stuff. But then the 70's and 80's was my generation and by far the best music to ever come out of a studio.
Who's next? Remember they have to be free.

great idea. Just pity that soon (if not already) this will be classified like our cars are: Vintage songs :)

I am hooked on Spotify. You can get it free, but you have to put up with occasional ads, or you can upgrade for a nominal fee and eliminate the ads. The app gives you access to nearly every piece of music ever recorded and commercially available. That's EVERY piece of music (with the notable exception of the Beatles, because rights to their music is in private hands, I think Michael Jackson's estate?). You can create your own play lists and you can link to other peoples lists, and there are dozens of lists named "driving music". You can access the music from any smart device, including iPod. I think this is the future of the commercial music industry.

Waze.... (https://www.waze.com) the ultimate FREE navigation app for iPhone and other devices. Apart from a few gimmicky features excellent for navigation, including traffic news and other useful information.

Have not tried Spotify, but I have a bunch of custom "stations" on Pandora. Also, "Tune-In Radio" allows me to tune in and stream nearly any radio station, anywhere. Thank goodness I have no data download limits on Sprint!
Oh, I do hear plenty of Beatles on Pandora...

I'm with Michael. Pandora allows you to create your own radio stations. I listen to it all the time. I can't remember but, I don't think Pandora is free. I am also a big fan of Shazam. It will identify songs you hear. You can tag them and buy them immediately on iTunes. Amazingly accurate.

Pandora has both free and $36/year versions. Free includes some ads,not too many, and hardly annoying.

Thanks Guys.... ;)
